Did you know? Betsy grew up in Arlington, riding Big Wheels and climbing trees, one of the biggest tomboys on the block. She played on a Texas-ranked soccer team called the Twisters and played until Jr. High when basketball became her sport of choice. She went to Trinity University, San Antonio, on a basketball scholarship, but found that basketball and rigorous academic work didn't mix well - academics won. Her original game plan had her on a track to become a pediatrician until her junior year - Bio-Chemistry made her think twice. That's when she got on track to get her Masters in Special Education.
She and her husband, Brian, met in Estes Park while working at the YMCA of the Rockies for the summer. Betsy and Brian are the proud parents of three; Gracie, Henry, and Libby. When she finds a few extra minutes she is called on to conduct teacher trainings for local preschools and elementary school, with a focus on equipping teachers to work with special needs children. Betsy thinks that being in charge of Hope Kids is a double blessing . . . she can share her faith in a worthwhile ministry and at the same time build a program that her own children can enjoy and grow in. You will usually see Betsy on Sunday mornings back in Hope Kids jumping up and down to FunZone songs and making silly faces right along with the kids. Come and check it out sometime!
