Did you know? Melanie was born not far from here in Ennis, Texas where she attended high school. She knew she was called to be a teacher even back in elementary school. She even had a club where she and her friends would "play school" but she quit because her friends didn't take it seriously enough. Inspired by lots of great teachers and wonderful church youth volunteers, she successfully completed high school and then attended A&M (WHOOP!) majoring in English and earning her teaching certification. During her time at A&M she attended the Wesley Foundation (Methodist Student Center) where she met a weird, funny guy named Goat. They fell in love pretty fast, dated for three years of college, and were married in December of 1997. Now they live in Arlington, with the pride of their life, son Jake. In addition to serving as part-time youth minister at COH, Melanie is also an English teacher at Mansfield's Summit High School.
