Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7

Father, in Your mercy, hear our prayers.

Please keep praying for my cousin's father-in-law and family. I got this from them this morning:

Daddy is still very low. He is better but from one day to the next, he is ready to be taken out to pasture. It's very sad for us to witness--especially because I cannot think of anything to tell him that would cheer him up. So sad.

We met with caseworker, toured a couple of nursing homes, met with his doctors and lawyer yesterday. All still depends on when they can get him to respond to medication to lift the depression. Also, he's got a few physical issues now (not walking, not really eating, etc.) that they are trying to address. They told us that he will definitely be at the hospital through Thanksgiving, so at least, we don't have to worry about that. Afterwards, we don't know yet where he will be sent---if a nursing home will even take him because of his past, etc.

My cousins wife's father is dealing with depression. About 2 weeks ago, he ran his car into a concrete barrier. It is unknown whether he did it on purpose or if he blacked out because he keeps changing his story. Miraculously, he only sustained a small fracture in his lower spine. He is curently in a geriatric psychiatric hospital and Carlene and her brother are trying to figure out the best course of action once he is released. Doctors say he will need 24 hr care.

Please pray for guidance amd stremgth for Carlene and her brother and for God's comforting arms around their Dad.
